rapid prototype commonly used metal material -Stainless steel-sheet metal
1.Brief Introduction of Stainless steel Materials
Can resist air, steam, water and other weak corrosion, and can resist acid, alkali, salt and other chemical media strong corrosion just called stainless steel.
In nature, all metals react with oxygen in the atmosphere, such as iron forming rust.Stainless steel belongs to steel, why not rust?Because the stainless steel composition contains chromium, chromium is to make the stainless steel corrosion resistance of the basic element, when the content of chromium in steel reaches 12% or so, chromium and corrosion medium oxygen action, in the surface of the steel formed a very thin oxide film, can prevent the steel matrix is further corrosion.
2.Stainless steel classification
Stainless steel is usually divided into the following aspects according to the matrix.(1) Ferritic stainless steel, containing chromium 12%~30%, its corrosiveness, toughness and weldability increase with the increase of chromium content, and its resistance to oxide stress corrosion is better than other kinds of stainless steel.
(2) Austenitic stainless steel, containing more than 18% chromium, also contains about 8% nickel and a small amount of molybdenum, titanium, nitrogen and other elements.Comprehensive performance is good, can withstand a variety of medium corrosion.
(3) Austenitic ferritic stainless steel has the advantages of both austenitic and ferritic stainless steel, and has superplasticity.
(4) Martensitic stainless steel has high strength but poor plasticity and weldability.
Common grade of stainless steel
Stainless steel can be divided into Cr series (400 series), CR-Ni series (300 series), CR-Mn-Ni series (200 series) and precipitated hardening series (600 series).
There are 300 series commonly used, namely chromium-nickel series, belong to austenitic stainless steel.
(1)301 -- Ductility number, used for molding products, can also be machined to harden rapidly, good weldability, corrosion resistance and fatigue strength better than 304 stainless steel.
(2)302 -- Corrosion resistance is the same as 304, which has better strength due to relatively high carbon content.
(3)303 -- Easier to cut than 304 by adding a small amount of sulfur and phosphorus.
(4)304 -- i.e. 18/8 stainless steel.GB brand OCr18Ni9 is widely used.
(5)316 -- After 304, the second most widely used stainless steel, mainly used in the food industry, pharmaceutical industry and surgical equipment, adding molybdenum to make it a special corrosion resistant structure. It is also used as "ship steel" because of its better anti-oxide corrosion ability than 304.
Application range of stainless steel
(1)Used for daily life products, food utensils and so on.Such as a pot, tableware, etc.
(2)Corrosion resistance, such as long - term in the atmosphere for Bridges, highway products.
(3)Electronic products shell materials and decorative parts.
(4)other
5.Thickness of stainless steel sheet metal
The thickness of stainless steel sheet metal is 0.03~4.0mm.
6.Stainless steel finish
Stainless steel surface corrosion resistance, rarely for treatment, due to the smooth surface of stainless steel, surface treatment effect is not good, if need to be treated, stainless steel surface is best not smooth.
(1)Electroplating, stainless steel plating more difficult, in order to increase adhesion, electroplating should be special treatment, such as surface sand blasting.
(2)Spraying and baking.
(3)Electrophoretic, mainly black.
(4)Sand blasting, sand blasting can also be used as a prior process of other processes, can increase the surface adhesion.
(5)Electrolytic oxidation, oxidation black, etc.
