Post-processing of metal products

All metal
parts or CNC turning and milling parts after processing will leave processing marks on the surface of the product, the depth of these processing marks is determined by the sharpness of the cutting tool and the material itself. In general, the finishing marks are negligible, but in the strict sense of the finished product, there are one or two additional steps to complete.Today we are going to talk about post-processing methods for making metal products.

1. Polishing

Grinding is the use of fine abrasive sand to rub the surface of the product to produce a loose, nonlinear texture effect.Adhere different abrasive grains to the back of the lining paper or sheet. Abrasive grains can be distinguished according to their sizes with different "particle sizes" : the higher the particle size, the finer the abrasive grains, and therefore the better the surface effect.
Large grains of sand can quickly remove excess parts from the product surface, while fine grains can achieve the effect of mirror polishing.During the polishing process, water or other lubricants are usually used to remove debris to ensure a clean surface.Polishing is very effective for wavy or curved surfaces, but not for narrow corners or pockets.

2.Remove burrs

Manual deburring, using file, sandpaper, grinding head as an auxiliary tool

The formation of an oxide film on an aluminium product (anode) by an applied current under the appropriate electrolyte and specific process conditions.

Sandblasting is the process of using pressure jet abrasive material to the surface of the product for grinding, divided into dry sand blasting and water sand blasting. The type of abrasive material can determine the effect of the surface treatment.High pressure glass beads are usually used in sandblasting to quickly grind large areas of the product.Sandblasting can improve the mechanical properties of the product by increasing fatigue strength or corrosion resistance of the metal.

Electrophoretic painting is to have been painted on the conductivity of the material in the full of water to dilute the concentration of low electrophoretic coating as anode or cathode in the tank, the other set in the tank and its corresponding cathode (or anode), in the indirect communication between dc after a period of time, in the coated surface sedimentary out even close, not dissolved by water coating method of a kind of special coating.

It refers to the process in which metal is oxidized by strong oxidant or electrochemical method to make the surface become inactive state, that is, passivation. It is a method in which metal surface is transformed into a state that is not easy to be oxidized and the corrosion rate of metal is slowed down.
